![]() Why are Emojis considered Unprofessional? Collaboration.Actually, they have just the server there with all folders shared to everyone, not even passwords on the shares.I'm assigned to fix it. ![]() I have ZERO experience on setting up AD, but I'm thinking on upgrading a network from customer to AD. Never set up AD, where to start learning? Windows.our engineersmonskte have added some cables directlyįrom rooms to the patch panel and they are just ends to go directly into swit. I’ve got a patch panel full of a tangled mess some 3-5m cables some to short etc…. I’m awaiting the arrival of new switches. If you insist on supporting those archeological versions of Mac OS, you should invest in Acronis Files Connect (formerly Extreme Z-IP) to provide a very good/performant AFP service. Those ancient versions of Mac OS (X) can't run any current (meaning patched & safe) browser - not Firefox, not Chrome. Ĭurrent versions of Mac OS support SMB v3, 10.9 and higher support SMB v2. Mac OS "Mojave" (10.14) is still getting security updates but as a known (long-established) pattern from Apple, those will taper off at some point. The current version of Mac OS is 10.16, it's best practice to cycle-out/upgrade to at least n-1 (where n is current) which will get security updates for some time still. Those XP systems had better be silo'd (no internet access at all) an/or hopefully your company did purchase extended support to get critical security updates. Part of the problem is you're using ancient operating systems, and trying/hoping to interact with a very current server OS.įor starters: No-one should be using 10.9 let alone 10.5 (!!) they're not safe to use online. Does anyone have experienced something like that? I also tried to setup ftp from different machines not only the server and this mac still cant find even the ftp. The other 2 Macs that are 10.5 are working perfectly with the same settings. The version of Mac is 10.9.5 and it cant get any updates. ![]() I tried putting the ip, tried with cifs, tried different account, checked firewall, reinstalling os, nothing is working. I can ping server address but whenever i try to connect via connect to server, i put the address of share as usual, it asks for passwords and the it says The was a problem connecting to server. It has exactly the same network settings as the other 2, same workroup same everything. It cant see other computers in Network except the other 2 Macs. The 3rd Mac is the one that has a problem. They share files with server and between them. The other 5 are mixed windows 10 and windows 7Īll the pc and Macs are networked perfectly. Its a file server with smb1/cifs enabled because there are 2 windows XP in network for combability reasons with some printers. Server is Windows Server datacenter 2019. It will ask you for an administrator password.I have a network consisted of 10 clients and 1 server. Sudo chown root:wheel com.me.restart_smb.plist Update: Do not forget to change the owner of the file to root and change the permissions: Sleep 60 touch "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/.plist" I added a small startup script to /Library/LaunchDaemons that restarts smbd after the system is done loading: If I restart the file sharing, all the prerequisites are in place and authentication succeeds. Apparently, file sharing starts up before some security configuration is finalized, so when I try to mount the share, the server fails to correctly authenticate the request (I see errors in kdc.log: NTLM domain not configured). I traced the problem to a race condition during the server OS startup. However, if I go to the server, disable and enable file sharing, everything works as expected. Mount_smbfs: server rejected the connection: Authentication error I have a zfs drive that I’m sharing using samba from Lion and a strange thing is happening: I cannot see the share from the command line on another machine: The new samba file sharing in Lion (and in Mountain Lion) breaks things sometime.
